8:47 PM2h agoCrime+ AccidentTerry Lamar Easter, the final outstanding suspect wanted in connection with a……deadly Victorville hit-and-run crash that killed two teenage best friends, turned himself in Wednesday and is now in custody. Easter, 50, also known as “Capone,” surrendered on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Victorville Police Department on Amargosa Road, according to jail records. He is being held on $1 million bail on charges that include vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and murder. His surrender comes one day after the California Highway Patrol announced that the two other people wanted in connection with the case — Easter’s mother, 74-year-old Madge Wells, and associate Ryan James Lewis, 45 — had been located and apprehended. The case stems from an Aug. 14 crash at Ridgecrest Road and Elmwood Drive that killed 17-year-old Maddalyn G. Dailey of Victorville and her best friend, 16-year-old Isabell Hill of Hesperia. The three-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 8:34 p.m. CHP previously said a yellow Chevrolet Camaro and black Dodge Charger were traveling northbound on Ridgecrest Road at a high rate of speed when an Acura driven by Maddalyn pulled out from Elmwood Drive while attempting to make a left turn. The resulting collision caused catastrophic damage to the Acura, splitting it into multiple pieces. The Camaro and a portion of the Acura also caught fire. Maddalyn and Isabell were pronounced dead at the scene. Another person suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities allege Easter fled the scene following the crash, leaving his 11-year-old son inside the vehicle. Earlier CHP incident logs indicated the Camaro and Charger may have been racing before the collision, although CHP had not previously confirmed street racing as the cause of the crash. CHP later identified Easter as a wanted suspect and announced that a $1 million warrant had been issued for his arrest. At the time, investigators described him as armed and dangerous. Wells was wanted on suspicion of being an accessory to Easter and had a $50,000 warrant, while Lewis was also wanted as an alleged accessory and had a $30,000 warrant. Both Wells and Lewis were apprehended Tuesday, leaving Easter as the final outstanding suspect until his surrender Wednesday. Easter is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on Friday, Aug. 28, at 8 a.m. Maddalyn and Isabell had both recently begun their senior years of high school.
