4:16 PM31m agoCrimeSchool Administrator Arrested for Failure to Report Child Abuse Press Release Date:……8/11/2026 Suspect: Roxane Michele Romero, 53-years-old, resident of Bakersfield Following an extensive investigation in 2025 into allegations former Tehachapi Unified School District employee Timothy Seaman had molested multiple children; Detectives with the Tehachapi Police Department developed information indicating a school district administrator may have failed to fulfill the mandatory reporting requirements as required by California Penal Code section 11166(A). During the investigation, detectives learned Dr. Roxanne Romero, who served as the Chief Administrator of Personnel for the Tehachapi Unified School District, had allegedly received multiple complaints from staff members, students and parents regarding inappropriate behavior involving Mr. Seaman. Detectives also learned that certain information which was reported to Ms. Romero, a mandated reporter, was not subsequently reported to law enforcement or Child Protective Services, in violation of the law. Detectives presented the facts of this investigation to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for review. Following that review, criminal charges were filed against Ms. Romero. August 11, 2026, Ms. Romero was taken into custody and later booked into the Kern County Jail for the above listed charge. The Tehachapi Police Department remains committed to thoroughly investigating any allegation of child abuse and holding those accountable who violate the laws intended to protect them. Based on the fact this investigation involves juvenile victims, the department will not release any additional information that could identify the children or their families. As a reminder, all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Richard Standridge, Chief of Police3:07 PM1h agoCrimePosting for a follower This lady came and stole at my moving……sale at 44200 Block of Dahlia Street, she grabbed a robe and put it over multiple items she did not show me, the shoes alone were 60, it’s not even about the money, it’s the fact that this lady stole at a YARD SALE, with her mom and her daughter which is really embarrassing. Once she was ready to leave the big pink robe she grabbed in the video, she wrapped around the shoes and other items, who knows what else she got away with. It wasn’t a "yard sale", it was more of a moving sale so there was nice items I was giving to her for really cheap, I didn’t even notice the shoes were gone till the end and it was time to go because my boyfriend couldn’t find the shoes. He was going to put them on facebook if they didn’t sell at the sale, and when we looked back at the cameras, she stole the shoes3:02 PM1h agoCrimeSheriff's Rural Crimes Task Force Investigates Assault After Shots Were Fired at……BNSF Police Officer DATE: August 10, 2026, at 6:04 p.m. INCIDENT: PC 245 – Assault with Weapon LOCATION: Cajon Boulevard and Keenbrook Road, Devore SUSPECT(S): Unknown VICTIM(S): Burlington North Santa Fe (BNSF) Officer SUMMARY: On Monday, August 10, 2026, at about 6:04 p.m., deputies from San Bernardino County and officers from the California Highway Patrol, responded to assist BNSF Railway Police following a report of shots fired near Cajon Boulevard and Keenbrook Road. BNSF officers encountered individuals suspected of burglarizing rail cars and officers attempted to deter the activity. During the incident, a suspect fired a handgun in the direction of a BNSF officer. The officer was not struck or injured. The train continued northbound before eventually stopping in the Summit Valley area. Deputies and BNSF officers established a perimeter around the train and, with assistance from Sheriff’s Aviation, and personnel from the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SED), conducted a search of rail cars believed to have been entered. No suspects were located during the search. Several vehicles and individuals encountered in the surrounding area were investigated and determined to be unrelated to the incident. No deputies or BNSF officers were injured. The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff’s Rural Crimes Task Force has assumed the investigation.
