Batton down the hatches! The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley. As of 1pm, the wind is howling at 40mph eith gust to 50mph. High profile vehicles are discouraged from travelling Highway 14 from Acton to north of California City. This advisory is scheduled to end at 10:00pm today.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 10 AM PDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California.

* WHEN...From noon today to 10 AM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Isolated gusts up to 60 mph possible Saturday night across the Interstate 5 Corridor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
