馃毃 CHP Assists in Arrest of Double Murder Suspect
On June 18, CHP assisted the Pomona Police Department following a fatal shooting that claimed the lives of two victims.
CHP鈥檚 Crime Suppression Team, IRIS Unit, and Air Operations quickly coordinated efforts to locate the suspect vehicle. Using license plate reader technology and aerial support, CHP located the suspect traveling northbound on I-5 near Roxford Street.
When officers attempted an enforcement stop, the suspect fled, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit that lasted more than 90 minutes and traveled through Los Angeles and Kern counties.
CHP personnel from Newhall, Fort Tejon, and Antelope Valley safely brought the pursuit to an end. Antelope Valley officers deployed a spike strip and a pursuit intervention technique, and the suspect was taken into custody at approximately 7:10 p.m.
