Detectives Seek Additional Victims Following Caretaker's Arrest for Sexual Assault

DATE/TIME: July 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

INCIDENT: Suspect Arrested for Sexual Assault

LOCATION: 10000 block of Crow Road, Apple Valley

SUSPECT: Howard Parker, 55-year-old, Resident of Apple Valley

SUMMARY: On July 23, 2026, at about 5:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 10000 block of Crow Road in reference to reports of abuse.

Through the investigation, detectives determined that while Howard Parker was employed as an in-home caretaker for the adult victim, he sexually assaulted the victim, who has cognitive disabilities. Parker was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 261(a)(1)- Rape, PC 286(g)- Sodomy, PC 289(b)- Sexual Penetration of a Victim Unable to Give Consent, and PC 368(b)(1)- Elder Abuse. Parker is being held in lieu of $80,000 bail.

Detectives are releasing Parker's booking photograph in an effort to identify any additional victims.
