CHP Antelope Valley Investigates Fatal Traffic Crash
On October 3, 2025, at approximately 12:53 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from the Antelope Valley Area responded to a traffic crash on State Route 14 northbound, north of Sierra Highway.
The investigation determined that Ms. C. Garcia, 42, of Palmdale, was driving a 2025 Mercedes-Benz C300 within the number one lane of SR-14. John Doe, 51, of Lancaster, was driving a 2005 Mini Cooper in the same lane, ahead of the Mercedez-Benz. For reasons still under investigation, the Mercedes-Benz struck the rear of the Mini Cooper.
Following the impact, the Mini Cooper traveled in a northeasterly direction and struck a nearby mountainside. John Doe, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the Mini Cooper and sustained fatal injuries. Ms. Garcia and her passengers, J. Sanchez, 18, and R. Hightower, 46, both of Palmdale, were transported to Palmdale Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
