CHP Antelope Valley Investigates Fatal Collsion

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 5:57 a.m., a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash occurred on Avenue T, just east of 94th Street East, within the Antelope Valley Area. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded promptly and initiated a thorough investigation. Preliminarily findings indicate that the victim, later identified as R. Cabrera, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a passing motorist. The driver left the scene without providing assistance. Currently, the identity of the suspect and vehicle remain unknown.

At present, the involvement of alcohol or drugs is unknown.

Next of kin have been notified. Should additional information regarding the decedent be sought, please contact the Los Angeles County Coroner鈥檚 Office at (323) 343-0512.

The CHP urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the CHP Antelope Valley Area office at (661) 743-6060. After hours, please contact the Los Angeles Traffic Management Center at (323) 259-3200.

This investigation is ongoing, and the CHP has committed to following all available leads to locate the suspect and bring closure to Mr. Cabrera鈥檚 family and the community.
