On September 23, 2025, at approximately 6:20 A.M., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from the Antelope Valley Area responded to a head-on traffic crash on Sierra Highway south of Crown Valley Road.
Preliminary investigation determined a black Infiniti Q50, driven by M. Calzada, 22, of Canyon Country, was traveling on Sierra Highway when, for reasons still under investigation, Calzada lost control of the vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided head-on with a blue Honda Odyssey driven by S. Hernandez-Trinidad, 57, of Santa Clarita.
Tragically, M. Calzada and his front passenger, P. Gomez, 22, of Canyon Country, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. A rear passenger in the Infiniti, G. Gonzalez, 22, of Canyon Country, sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Honda Odyssey, S.
