Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Fatal Traffic Crash
The California Highway Patrol, Antelope Valley Area, is investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic crash that occurred last Saturday evening on State Route 18, east of 248th Street East. Preliminary investigation indicates a 31-year-old Riverside woman had been walking across SR-18, at approximately 6:35 p.m., when she was struck by a 2000 Ford pickup truck being driven eastbound on SR-18 by 46-year-old North Hills man.
Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The investigating officer, C. Delgado, determined alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the crash.
At this time, notification of next of kin is still pending. For information regarding the deceased, please contact the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner at (323) 343-0512.
This traffic crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Antelope Valley Area.
