on pocket bikes? CHP officers recently contacted four juveniles, ages 14, 15, 15, and 16, riding pocket bikes on Angeles Forest Highway. The group was attempting to make the trip from Palmdale to the San Fernando Valley. While we can appreciate the sense of adventure, pocket bikes are not street legal and operating them on a public roadway creates a serious safety risk—especially on a highway where motorists may be traveling at significantly higher speeds. All four juveniles were cited and the pocket bikes were impounded. Parents and caregivers, please take a moment to talk with young riders about where these vehicles can legally and safely be operated. What seems like a fun ride can quickly turn into a dangerous situation. Adventure is great. Just make sure it’s a safe and legal one.
