Over the Memorial Day weekend the California Highway Patrol, Mojave Area held a Sobriety/Driver License checkpoint in Rosamond. While we appreciated seeing so many sober drivers, we did encounter three impaired drivers during the course of the checkpoint. We remind everyone that driving impaired is one of the most selfish decisions you can make.
Also during the course of the weekend, the CHP Mojave Area had approximately 350 enforcement contacts for everything from speed to distracted driving to unsafe lane changes to improper seatbelt use.
Please drive responsibly and always designate a sober driver!
