Yesterday, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office was serving a search warrant at a residence in Lancaster when investigators discovered approximately 1,000 pounds of illegal fireworks that were unrelated to their investigation.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Lancaster Police Department, and our officers responded to safely seize the illegal fireworks and remove them from the community.
This seizure is another reminder that illegal fireworks are being actively identified and taken off our streets. These explosives pose a significant risk of injury, fire, and property damage.
