Lancaster Woman Killed in Adelanto Murder Suicide

An investigation is underway after two people were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in San Bernardino County.

On Dec. 20, Victor Valley deputies responded to a medical aid call at a home on the 10700 block of Bonanza Road in Adelanto around 9:40 p.m.

Inside the residence, a man and a woman were found, each with a gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. They wre identified as Tyreek Moore, 23, of Adelanto and Shyla Powell, 22, of Lancaster.

Following an investigation, detectives learned that Moore and Powell were involved in a verbal altercation earlier that day.

nvestigators located a firearm near Moore and determined the incident was a suspected murder-suicide. Moore was identified as the suspect in the case.

A sheriff’s department spokesperson told The Victorville Daily Press that Moore and Powell had been involved in a dating relationship. Family members told the outlet the two had children together, but were no longer in a relationship at the time.

No further details were released as the incident remains under investigation.
