#LASD Palmdale Station Investigators Arrest Attempt Murder Suspect

On Monday, June 22, 2026, deputies assigned to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of 6th Street East and East Avenue Q-12, in the City of Palmdale, regarding a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. Deputies assigned to the Palmdale Station Partners Against Crime (PAC) Unit, initiated the preliminary investigation. With the assistance of deputy personnel, investigators conducted an extensive canvass of nearby businesses and searched for potential witnesses. Their efforts led to the discovery of surveillance footage that captured the incident. The video showed a white four-door Toyota Corolla traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on 6th Street East before crossing into the opposing northbound lanes. The driver (a Hispanic Male, in his 20’s) appeared to intentionally steer his vehicle toward the victim (a Black Male, in his 30’s), who was riding a skateboard southbound near the east curbline. The suspect’s vehicle struck the victim, causing him to land on the windshield. The vehicle subsequently collided with the east curb and came to rest before the driver fled the area.

Investigators observed no apparent attempt by the driver to brake or avoid the collision, nor after striking the victim did the driver stop, render aid, or remain at the scene. Based on surveillance footage, statements, and evidence gathered during the investigation, investigators determined the incident appeared to be a targeted and intentional assault with a deadly weapon directed at the victim. Investigators also believe the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the incident. Through investigative efforts, and the use of department and city resources, authorities located the suspect vehicle and arrested an adult male believed to be the driver and sole registered owner of the Toyota Corolla. The suspect is currently in custody and has been charged with attempted murder. The victim sustained severe injuries and remains in critical condition. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Palmdale Station at 661-272-2400.
