Last week, the Lancaster Police Department partnered with the California Department of Cannabis Control and multiple Los Angeles County agencies in a joint enforcement operation targeting an illegal commercial cannabis grow.
During the operation, investigators located more than 180 cannabis plants, unsafe structures, and dangerous pesticides that are banned worldwide due to the serious risks they pose to human health, first responders, animals, and the environment.
These toxic chemicals have no place in our communities. Many illegal grow operations use unregulated pesticides that can contaminate soil, water, and air while putting neighboring residents at risk.
Licensed cannabis operators are required to follow strict California safety and environmental regulations designed to protect consumers and the public. Illegal operations bypass those safeguards entirely.
This operation is a reminder of the importance of interagency collaboration in keeping our neighborhoods safe, protecting public health, and holding illegal operators accountable.
If you see suspicious activity related to illegal cannabis grows, please report it.
This investigation remains active. Additional details may be released as they become available.
