LILY FIRE – LANCASTER
Los Angeles County Fire Department resources are on scene of the Lily Fire near 100th Street West and Avenue L in Lancaster.
A full brush response was initially requested after crews arrived at a 1-acre vegetation fire moving to the southwest through light to moderate brush at a slow rate of spread, per Incident Command.
The fire has since grown to approximately 30 acres, burning between solar fields in the flats, with the potential to reach 100 acres within the next hour, according to Incident Command.
A Second Alarm Brush Response has been requested as firefighters continue working to slow the fire's spread.
UPDATE: Forward progress has been stopped after the fire reached an area of solar fields with little to no available fuel for further spread, per Incident Command.
The fire remains approximately 30 acres. With the threat of additional spread significantly reduced, additional responding resources are being canceled.
Firefighters will remain on scene for mop-up and to strengthen containment lines.
