On Friday, October 2, 2026, at approximately 08:50pm, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian, traffic collision at the intersection of 2nd Street East and Palmdale Boulevard within the City of Palmdale.
The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate at approximately 08:50pm on October 2, 2026, a 2013 white Hyundai Elantra was driving eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard in the number two lane. The pedestrian was running northbound at the intersection of 2nd Street East on a red traffic signal. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra collided into the pedestrian and stopped on the south shoulder of the roadway.
The pedestrian was transported to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles where he was pronounced deceased approximately three days later. Deputies on scene trained in Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection and Enforcement conducted Standard Field Sobriety Tests on the driver of the Hyundai. As a result of their investigation, they determined alcohol and drugs were not a factor in this collision.
