📣 SENTENCING UPDATE
In February of 2026, in a case prosecuted by Deputy DA David Eller, a Kern County jury convicted Carlos Robles, age 31, of ten felony counts relating to the sexual abuse and rape of a child.
The charges included: Sexual intercourse, Oral copulation and Sexual Penetration of a Child 10 Years or Younger, Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Minor by Force, Exhibiting Harmful Matter to a Minor, Criminal Threats, Lewd Touching of a Child, and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
On June 14, 2021 the child victim reported that Robles had been sexually abusing her for several years, beginning when she was 7-years old. Additionally, the victim revealed that the defendant had threatened to kill her if the abuse was ever reported. Robles took efforts to ensure that the victim was not afforded an opportunity to report the abuse and further engaged in efforts to perpetuate the years-long abuse by isolating the victim from other children so that he could continue a pattern of repeated victimization.
The subsequent investigation by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the Kern Regional Crime Lab provided physical evidence that corroborated the victim’s allegations, including DNA evidence that linked Robles to the crimes.
Robles’ sentencing hearing was held yesterday where the Honorable Judge Gloria Cannon sentenced Robles to serve 76 years, 8 months to life in prison. ⚖️
