SIGALERT: Semi-Truck Fire Closes Lanes on Northbound SR-14

PALMDALE — A semi-truck caught fire Tuesday morning on northbound Highway 14 near Avenue S, prompting a SigAlert and significant lane closures.

The incident was first reported around 7:48 a.m. The semi, which was reportedly hauling recyclables, began smoking before flames spread to the trailer. The driver was able to pull over and exit the vehicle, then worked to detach the truck from the burning trailer.

By 8 a.m., all northbound lanes were blocked as firefighters worked the incident. As of approximately 8:11 a.m., two of three lanes remained closed, with CHP estimating delays of at least 60 minutes.

Drivers should expect heavy traffic through the area and use alternate routes if possible.
