Officers with the LAPD’s Mission Division responded to the area of 13574 W. Foothill Boulevard regarding a four-vehicle collision. While an officer was conducting the investigation, another driver reportedly attempted to maneuver around vehicles at the scene and struck the officer before fleeing. The officer was transported to a hospital and was stated to be in critical condition with a possible broken leg. The search for the driver later led authorities to a neighborhood in Pacoima, where dozens of officers responded and multiple people were detained during the investigation. Authorities ultimately arrested a suspect in connection with the hit-and-run, according to information reported by ABC7. The circumstances surrounding the crash and subsequent arrest remain under investigation. Additional information regarding the injured officer’s condition was not immediately available
