TWO BODIES FOUND AT LANCASTER PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS MISSING MEN
LANCASTER — The two bodies discovered buried at a remote Lancaster property earlier this week have been identified as two men who had recently been reported missing.
The men were identified as 46-year-old Edward Perez and 61-year-old Ricky Phillips. Phillips was reported missing on September 10, while Perez was reported missing on September 19. Both men were from the Lancaster area.
The remains were discovered Tuesday at a property near 50th Street East and Avenue F as Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives followed up on information connected to a missing persons investigation. Cadaver dogs, deputies and excavation equipment were used during the search.
Detectives returned Wednesday and continued searching and excavating additional areas of the property. The search has since concluded.
Authorities have not released the causes or manners of death, how long the remains had been at the property, or what connection, if any, existed between Perez and Phillips.
Information obtained by AV Scanner News indicates a possible suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the investigation and a separate prior incident dating back to June. LASD has not publicly confirmed an arrest in connection with the deaths at this time.
