*2nd UPD* #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to a Missing Persons with Suspected Foul Play #Lancaster

Earlier this morning, on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was notified by the Consulate General of Peru that Jossimar Cabrera, the wanted murder suspect from Lancaster, was taken into custody. Cabrera surrendered to authorities in Lima, Peru.

It will take several months in order to extradite Cabrera to the United States, but with a current order in place, he will be kept in Peruvian custody pending his extradition. This information is still pending official correspondence.

On today’s date August 21, 2025, the case against Jossimar Cabrera was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and murder charges were filed on Suspect Cabrera by the District Attorney at the Antelope Valley Court. The suspect is still believed to be in Peru and additional time will be needed to obtain an extradition order to facilitate his arrest and extradition back to the United States.
