Apple Valley Man Arrested for Taking Photographs of Female Juveniles at The Victorville Fairgrounds

INCIDENT: PC 647.6: Annoy Child Under 18 Years of Age

LOCATION: 14000 Block of Seventh St., Victorville

SUSPECT: Ashok Melvani, age 71, resident of Apple Valley

VICTIM(S):Confidential, female juveniles. SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 12:34 p.m., deputies were called to the Victorville Fairgrounds regarding an adult male who was recording young females.

A witness observed the suspect record two juvenile females who were standing at a food vendor truck. The witness confronted the suspect, later identified as, Ashok Melvani and he ran away. The witness caught up with Melvani and held him until a deputy arrived. The victims did not know the suspect, were unaware he was recording them, and were disturbed by the incident.

Through investigation, deputies determined Melvani recorded the victims for his own sexual pleasure and has recorded other females in the past.

Deputies believe there may be additional victims and are releasing Melvani’s photograph.
