CHP Antelope Valley Investigates Fatal Traffic Crash

September 30, 2025
On September 27, 2025, at approximately 4:37 A.M., California Highway Patrol officers from the Antelope Valley Area responded to a traffic crash on State Route 14 northbound, south of Palmdale Boulevard.
The investigation determined that D. Montoya, 21, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was driving a 2020 Tesla Model 3, and had been involved in a separate traffic crash prior to this incident. For reasons still under investigation, Mr. Montoya exited the vehicle and remained standing within the number one lane of SR-14 northbound. Mr. F. Henriquez, 58, of Panorama City, was driving a 2008 MCI J-Series Motorcoach northbound in the same lane when his vehicle struck Mr. Montoya. Tragically, Mr. Montoya sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
