Ridgecrest Police Arrest Man During Traffic Stop, Seize Firearms and Suspected Narcotics

PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition
HS 11370.1(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed
HS 11379(a) – Transport Controlled Substance
HS 11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale.
On March 16, 2026, Sergeant Pietrangelo and Officer Quiroz with the Ridgecrest Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of W. Wilson Ave. on a vehicle for vehicle code violations.
During the stop, officers contacted the driver, identified as Kyle Lee Wisdom, and determined he had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located a firearm, a black powder firearm, and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Wisdom is a convicted felon and is prohibited from owning firearms/ammunition.
Based on information developed during the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for a local storage unit. The warrant was approved by a judge, and a subsequent search of the unit resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of ammunition and additional firearm-related items.
All evidence was seized, and the investigation remains ongoing.
